###
The Umrah agenda was held
in April this year with a duration of about 12 days to coincide with the
evening program of Lailatul Qodar. My extended family of 7 members chose the
Umrah plus Turkey package with the departure gathering point of Soekarno-Hatta
International Airport Terminal 3.
The first day starts at
03.00 WIB in the morning, gather at Aljazeerah Lounge terminal 3 then head to
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal 3 for check-in, baggage, and
immigration processes. Then together go to the boarding lounge while waiting for
the departure time.
In the area of the
airport, I always find a kind of digital information board or not digital like
it. The information board contains directions for the path of airport visitors,
along with the visual of the information board.
It can be seen that the
board shares information on departure directions, reporting, health rooms,
center information, ATMs, toilets, and services.
Pilgrims are scheduled to
take off at 09.15 WIB using Turkish Airlines flight TK509 and arrive in
Istanbul at 17.05 TRT (Turkish Time).
Upon arrival at Istanbul
Attaturk Airport, immigration and baggage claim process continue. After being
met by a local guide, pilgrims are directed to dinner at a local restaurant,
hotel transfer, and rest.
Day 2, after breakfast
pilgrims then continue the city tour to several destinations. I had asked the
tour guide about the whereabouts of the destination before heading to the
destination.
“Pak, setelah ini agenda
perjalanan yang kita tuju mau ke mana saja?” tanya saya.
“Untuk tujuan pada siang
hari ini kita mulai ke Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, dan Hagia Sophia. Setelah itu
dilanjut city tour ke Topkapi Palace, dilanjut makan malam di restaurant
Tamara, dan berpindah hotel untuk istirahat,” jelas guide tour.
After the questions were
answered, I was so enthusiastic during the trip. On the way, I repeatedly
searched for sources of information through maps & google about the
destination to be addressed.
Brief information about the destination to be addressed, if like this;
The Blue Mosque building
/ Sultan Ahmed Mosque is known as a historical building of the Ottoman Empire
located in Fatih district, Istanbul Province, Turkey.
The Hippodrome of
Constantinople was a circus that was the social and sports center of
Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire. Today a square called
Sultanahmet Meydanı is located in the city of Istanbul in Turkey, with some fragments
of the original structure still preserved.
Hagia Sophia Mosque.
Officially named the Great Mosque of Hagia Sophia, is a mosque, cultural site,
and major historical Byzantine heritage located in the Fatih district of
Istanbul Province, Turkey.
Topkapi Palace, a palace
in Istanbul, Turkey, which was the official residence of the Ottoman Sultan for
over 600 years.
Day 3 is still in
Istanbul. Day 3 is a day tour from Istanbul to Bursa City. In Bursa City we
visited Turkish Delight Shop as a typical snack shopping place.
The tour agenda on that
day continues to visit the Grand Mosque-Green Mosque & Tomb, and Silk Market.
Day 4 is the last day in
Turkey before continuing departure to Medina. Start after breakfast at the
hotel, visit Turkish Leather Shop, Eyub Sultan Mosque, and Bosphorus Cruise.
Not forgetting the main
worship, and continuing the lunch agenda at Restaurant Galapera. The main
agenda of the Grand Bazzar city tour, and closed dinner at Kebab House.
After dinner was over,
the Umrah pilgrims were directed to gather towards the destination of Istanbul
Ataturk International Airport as briefing to Medina using Turkish Airlines TK98
which was scheduled to take off at 01.10 TRT (Turkish Time).
If the departure is less
than half an hour, I suddenly feel like going to the airport toilet. I was
allowed to bring a companion fellow pilgrim on the group tour who happened to
be holding back his urination. At that time we did not have time to pay
attention to the airport landing board. In addition to language, the symbols
also seem to be suddenly unclear to the eye.
Without having time to
look at the directions, I fell directly on the airport information station at
that time. In simple English that I understood, without thinking I asked the
staff innocently.
"Excuse me, can I
tell you the direction of the toilets around here?"
"The toilet is not
far from here, you can walk straight ahead, later meet the direction symbol,
follow, the toilet will be more visible."
"I-o-a... oh...
thank you for the information."
Fortunately, the staff I
asked could keep up with the language I used, English. Without lingering after
receiving the information, I rushed to walk half-run with one companion I took
to the toilet.
Huft…
Time is getting closer to
the departure schedule, coupled with the amount of information announced
through airport loudspeakers as if focused on that the plane has flown.
I had nothing to confirm,
spontaneously asked people around, even though what I asked was also a fellow
foreigner at the airport who happened to not understand English, I was mistaken
because the person's clothes were like the officer's clothes.
"Excuse me, has
Turkish Airlines TK98's departure passed? And is there a change in the schedule
from the time stated on the ticket?" I asked while looking at the ticket
photo on my cellphone.
The person I asked could
only give a hand signal towards the departure information officer who was
allegedly the same as the officer I asked before heading to the toilet.
Don't understand the
ridiculousness at the airport that day anymore. In my mind, the obvious
departure time must be confirmed first before excessive panic. If the departure
time is still about 10 minutes, most likely the group of pilgrims is still
around the waiting area for the gate before the flight.
"Excuse me, has
Turkish Airlines TK98's departure passed? And is there a change in the schedule
from the time stated on the ticket?"
"Nothing has been
changed for the current time, the departure is still about 17 minutes from
now," explained the information staff.
"Thank you, I will
go to the original gathering point soon."
My friend and I were
walking quickly in the direction of the gathering point. And sure enough, when
they arrived at the gathering point, families, pilgrims, and tour guides were
already busy tidying up the things that would be brought to the plane. When
looking at the time, the departure time is less than 10 minutes and you must be
ready to go to the queue gate.
Upon arrival in Medina at
04.40 AST (Saudia Arabia Time), immigration and baggage processing, continued
pilgrims' journey to the inn to rest. On the next 6 to 5 days it is filled as a
Madinah-Makkah umrah agenda which is composed of several complementary
activities in it, such as compulsory worship / sunnah, pilgrimage & thawaf.
The last day in the holy
land, my family and I were given the freedom to shop for souvenirs around with
a deadline agreement to reunite.
'Imperceptibly, Umrah
activities have ended in the next few hours. On this 12th day, as a day of
travel back to the homeland through several Makkah-Jeddah-Istanbul transits.
The flight to Istanbul uses Turkish Airlines TK98 which is scheduled to take
off at 20:45 TRT (Turkish Time).
The journey back to the
country continued with the transit of Turkish Airlines flight TK56 which was
scheduled to take off at 01.55 TRT, and estimated to arrive in Indonesia at
17.35 WIB. The final agenda of the Umrah trip is closed with immigration and
baggage claim at Soekarno Hatta Airport.
The trip does not just
arrive at Soekarno Hatta Airport. After farewell to the pilgrims, my family and
I took the time to find a food court/restaurant.
I had the wrong way to
the food court, I finally asked the guard around Soekarno Hatta airport.
“Pak, izin tanya, area
food court sekitar sini di mana, ya?”
“Food court bisa lewat
basement arah keluar, nanti posisinya sebelah kanan, ya, mba. Di situ menunya
lebih lengkap masakan Indonesia.”
After arrived at the dining area, my family and I chose the existing dining menu.
Pelayan: Selamat datang,
pesan apa, kak?
Saya: Paket nasi padang +
minum jeruk hangatnya masih sedia buat 7 paket?
Pelayan: Bisa …
tambahannya apa lagi, kak?”
Saya: Oh, ya, sambal
hijau + 2 iso dipisah mangkok aja.
Pelayan: Siap … ditunggu,
ya, kak.
Saya: Terima kasih.
After the order came, my
family and I ate food, continued the maghrib worship, and continued the journey
to the hotel that had been booked in the area not far from the airport using a
private car deposited in the airport area during Umrah. The return trip to
Semarang continued after checking out from the hotel the next day.
